Stanford Achievement Test (Stanford 10)

Our student’s performance on standardized test provides evidence of the validity of our philosophy and approach. In 2006, Cedarcrest Academy students in specific grades were administered the Stanford Achievement Test Series, Tenth Edition or Stanford 10. We adopted this assessment tool due to the correlation of its test items to our curriculum. Using the Stanford 10 also allows us to compare our performance with that of other private and NCE schools. The students received impressive results compared to the National Percentile Rankings or NPR.  Cedarcrest Academy students in the fourth, sixth and eighth grades outperformed 89-92% of students tested in mathematics, and scored in the top 15% of the nation in reading comprehension.  We are especially proud of these results because they included every student in the tested grades.
The graph below shows the National Percentile Rankings (NPR.)

These test scores only confirm what our teachers already experience: that Cedarcrest Academy students excel in academics.  Half of our eligible students regularly make our honor roll, which  recognizes students in grades three to eight who have attained at least an A- (90%) grade point average in all five major subjects. The supportive environment and carefully planned curriculum are a proven successful combination.
