Sport Guidelines
Cedarcrest Academy is a member of the South Side Youth Organization, SSYO, and currently participate in Boy’s and Girl’s Basketball and Girl’s Volleyball. Rules and regulations are governed by the SSYO Board of Directors and Minnesota State High School guidelines.
Athletics usually requires athletes to devote 2-3 hours of practice each week and 1-2 games each week during the season. The athlete is expected to follow an individual regimen of training during the off-season. Student-athletes are required to meet continued academic eligibility standards as members of a team.
Sport Pride
Since the inception of the Sports Program, Cedarcrest Academy has enjoyed many successes in basketball. The Boys ’05-‘06 and ’06-‘07 Varsity Basketball Teams have been crowned Champions in the SSYO Bronze Division for two consecutive years. Additionally, the Girls 2005 Varsity Basketball Team brought home Cedarcrest’s first trophy wining the friendship placement award in Shakopee Area Catholic School's tournament.
