Many studies have been conducted on the effects of music to the brain. Scientists say that children who are exposed to music, or those who play an instrument, do better in school than those who don't. Recent research suggests exposure to music may benefit a child's reading age, IQ and the development of certain parts of the brain.
Here at Cedarcrest Academy band is open to all students in 4th-8th grade. We have two ensembles split by grade level, Cadet Band, 4th and 5th Grade, and our Academy Band, 6th-8th Grade.
Our band encompasses the standard wind band instrumentation, but is not limited to the following:

Our ensembles perform a Christmas concert and also our very popular spring Pops concert.
Band at Cedarcrest has grown over tha past year,a nd is a very popular class choice for our students.
