Cedarcrest Academy was created to teach a uniquely Catholic academic curriculum with high academic and moral standards. Founded in 1997, Cedarcrest Academy opened their doors with 11 students in grades K-6. Their first building was located in Plymouth but due to their sudden growth Cedarcrest Academy had outgrown this location quickly and in 2000 moved their campus from Plymouth to Maple Grove. As the school grew it continued to enhance their curriculum by added specialty classes such as Spanish, Latin, computers, art, and music as well as many other programs such as, Cedarcrest Academy Parent Association (CAPA), family events, an ever growing athletic program, virtue campaigns, boys and girls Catholic youth clubs, the Kids for Jesus program, Vocations Day, and parent Gospel study groups.

Cedarcrest Academy continues to make a presence in the western suburbs with the high student achievement that is validated through the Stanford 10 annual achievement test. Cedarcrest students scored in the 90% percentile nationally. Today, Cedarcrest Academy educates students from Pre-K3 through 8th grade within two campuses.
